Nonprofit Development Center Educational Opportunities
The training component of the Center is designed for staff members, board members and executive directors of nonprofit organizations. By bringing in seasoned professionals, we are able to offer the best ideas and information on various topics including – but not limited to – fundraising, marketing, volunteerism, technology, grant writing and human resources.
The courses are available to any nonprofit organization in the East Texas area. Reservations are required. To reserve your seat, go to the "Store". You can also fax or mail the completed form shown on this page.

Message Strategy – Creating Language That Draws New Donors To You, presented by Dave Goetz, Chicago, IL. Participants will learn how constituents really think and will develop fresh, unique language that attracts new donors. Participants will also receive follow up consultations with Mr. Goetz to fine-tune their unique message and ways to adapt that message for different markets.

Creating the Most Powerful Tool in Funds Development: The Case Statement , presented by Carole Rylander from Dallas, Texas. This full day workshop takes an “A to Z” approach to creating a compelling client story and statistics on community issues that demand change. Workshop participants will “work the process” with an outline and framework for drafting a powerful communication and fund development tool.

TECHNOLOGY TRAINING
Microsoft Office 2007 Classes: presented by Eileen Whitaker. Hands-on classes for building stronger computer skills for internal capacity challenges such as streamlining project management, evaluation, and data collection efforts. Intended for nonprofit staff and volunteers.

Fee per full day course only $60. Classes held at 200 E. Ferguson, Court House Annex, 2nd floor room 206. Includes workbook. 8:30am to 4:30 pm, with one hour break for lunch (on your own) Class size is limited.
