2-1-1 in Disaster
2-1-1 East Texas plays a role in the Governor’s Homeland Security Strategy. When disasters threaten Texas or neighboring states 2-1-1 East Texas provides critical public safety and health alert information. 2-1-1 East Texas is the number to call for critical, current, information and safety instruction in response to natural and man-made disasters anywhere in Texas.
In 2008 2-1-1 East Texas responded to hurricanes, flooding, bio-hazard spills and fires across the State.
